In the coming weeks, I will reflect back and share my experience designing my very first training program as a professional corporate trainer. It’s incredible to think about now, especially considering the stories I hear and what has spread throughout the instructional design space. However, a key factor in my thoroughness was not just knowledge, skills, and job aids, but also the conditions I was working in, including expectations, time, access, and the freedom I was given. More to come soon as I reflect on this work out loud, but it gets at why education and training is just one piece of the individual and workforce capability puzzle.
