In any given year, I test and interact with a lot of admissions systems. So many of them are still unpleasant experiences. We’re talking about something as simple as completing a form, y’all.

You’d think AI had fixed this by now. Nope. Nah uh. Today, I went through a process that had clearly been reworked with AI. Claude, specifically. I could tell from the look and feel alone.

It wasn’t pleasant. It was more pleasant than some I’ve experienced. In the end, my card was charged, and I was left staring at a lovely error message.

It’s 2026.

I’ve written a 200-page dissertation on this. I’ve written a book on it. I published a toolkit (PDF format here) on it that, as of the last time I checked, both are free on Kindle Unlimited.

And yet admissions apps are still this painful at some institutions.

There is a better way. The experience can be better. It can even be delightful.

Learn more. Do better.

Get my book and toolkit. Let’s make admissions applications a better experience for all! 😄
